Escape from Cinema is the first volume of Zicobita. It gathers Bangla poems, prose poems, and field notes written from 2015 to 2020, with one 2015 prelude.
The numbered logs trace a movement away from cinema’s institutions and the identity of “filmmaker.” Attachment to cinema continued.
It is a poetic inquiry in autoethnographic form. The Bangla remains primary. Selected entries carry English Revisited notes written from memory, research, and return. These later readings are not translations.
